What is the Bujinkan?
The Bujinkan is a practical and intelligent system of Japanese martial arts. We learn how to fall and roll safely, how to apply various locks and strikes, and most importantly, how to protect ourselves and others through natural movement. The main focus of training is self-improvement.
Classes are informal and led by a licensed teacher. We are a small group and we train in a relaxed and friendly way. Beginners are very welcome. This art is suitable for all fitness levels, and is an excellent art for women as well as men (but you must be at least 16 years of age to begin training). You don't need a uniform or any other special gear to begin, any loose, comfortable clothing (eg. tracksuit) is fine. You're also welcome to come and watch a class, if you'd prefer not to jump in straight away.
If you're new
Please email me, and tell me a little about yourself and why you're interested in training. You're welcome to come and watch a class without participating, if you'd like to get a better idea of the way we train. If you want to start training regularly, please take a moment to read through the conditions here. Classes are pay-as-you-go, there are no membership schemes or advance payments or any of that nonsense. If you're just starting out, you don't need to buy a uniform or a belt - any comfy, loose-fitting clothes are fine. It's a good idea to bring a bottle of water with you.
